Okay, I wasn’t really tagged for this by name. I just saw this on Kellyn Roth’s blog and she tagged “everyone who is following her”. This just sounded so fun! 😀
Anyways, from what I’m gathering, this is the fourth day of the blog party and Faith L. Potts of Stories by Firefly is hosting it!

1 // Christmas is the season of hope, joy, and light. What’s your favorite thing to make this season bright?
I would have to say Christmas music! I’m not sure about any of you, but it really gets me into the Christmas spirit. Another thing are the Christmas trees and lights. 😀
2 // Reading of the Christmas story, lighting the tree – Which tradition is most special to you?
My family’s traditions will probably change a bit because of the move to Wisconsin earlier this year, but every Christmas in California, our grandparents and great-grandma would visit and we’d make sugar cookies with them. Decorating the cookies with sprinkles and icing was just so fun! We’d have a delicious meal, like ham etc, and then we’d exchange presents with each other and it was just so fun!
One thing we always do every Christmas is read the Christmas Story plus any other verses we wanted after breakfast, before opening presents. It really reminds me why we celebrate Christmas.
3 // Festive old hymns or glorious new tunes – What are you listening to on repeat?
I listen to contemporary music more than hymns and it’s just so festive! One I really love is this one below. It does have some rock guitar in it, if that bothers anyone. 🙂
So I pretty much love any Christmas song by the Trans-Siberian Orchestra. 🙂
I also love The Light of Christmas by Owl City. Okay, this video does feature veggietales but I wanted something legit and with lyrics. I like lyrics because I love subtitles.
I also like O Come, O Come Emmanuel, Little Drummer Boy
by For King and Country (and another band that I can’t recall), It’s Christmas by Mandisa, Jingle Bell Rock, and probably others that I can’t think of.
4 // Fiction and nonfiction, classics and contemporary – Which Christmas books do you love so much that you just have to re-read every year?
Go ahead and kill me if you want* but I’ve never actually read a christmas book. I put some on hold at the library so we’ll see if I have any favorites…. 😛
*please don’t. I’m just a friendly dingbat girl who doesn’t know what her favorite Christmas book is. xD
5 // Trees and nativities, bells and bows – Do you have a favorite Christmas decoration?
I love Christmas lights! They’re just so pretty and bright…. My family has never put up lights mainly because it’s too expensive to do so. A high electric bill is no fun, y’all.
When I was little, we used to drive around and look at other people’s Christmas lights. Another tradition we used to have, I suppose. 🙂
6 // From the prophets to the gospels, the timeless story is woven. Which Bible passage that speaks of our Savior birth holds a special place in your heart?
This one is probably pretty cliche to most of you, but I just love it!
10 And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people.
11 For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord. ~ Luke 2:10-11
It gives us the reason to celebrate Christmas. Although Jesus wasn’t born in December, we can still celebrate it at this time. 🙂
7 // Glittery snowflakes and shimmering balls to angels and one-of-a-kind creations. Do you have a favorite tree ornament?
Nope. We pretty much get rid of them fast because they break. They’re just the cheap red/gold ball ornaments. The only one I have in box is a palomino horse that reminds me of the one I used to have….. I miss him. 😥
8 // Red and green, silver and gold, even purple and blue! What’s your favorite color scheme this time of year?
I like red and green. It’s colorful!
9 // Between the old and the new, the classics and the cartoons, which Christmas movie do you come back to year after year?
Um…. maybe none? We don’t necessarily watch Christmas movies. *glares at brothers* All they want to watch is stupid Pokemon and stuff like that. They’ve been out of town for most of this week and I watched some sappy movies with my mom. Hallmark Movies Now has been our friend! I really loved A Cinderella Christmas…. so good, excluding the moments the characters were drinking. Plus the main guy was a dingbat. 😛
We also watched Christmas Belle and that was a stupid stupid stupid movie, an insult to Belle, in my opinion. I think we watched Santa Clause 3 for some odd reason. It was a silly movie… The whole time I saw Jack Frost, I was like: Why ship him with Elsa? He’s weird. 😛
I don’t think we ever watch the same movie again every year. I’ve never seen any of the classic cartoons that everyone refers to. Just give me explosions and everything is good. 😉
10 // Pies and cakes, cookies and sweets. What’s your favorite Christmas treats?
I hate pie. Except pumpkin pie. Berries are very gross and… yeah. I do like sugar cookies, but I get sick of that easily. Gingerbread cookies are good. Oooh it’s fun to build gingerbread houses! 😀
Eggnog is sort of good. I get sick of it after a few sips to one glass. Candy canes aren’t my top favorite, but still good.
I tag everyone who’s reading this! 😀
I mean, you don’t have to, but everyone should spread the Christmas cheer.
Ta-ta for now! 😀
